Step Forward.

kids in class
The sponsor a class program is presented as an opportunity for contributors to direct their donation directly to a classroom at John Calvin Christian School (ECJC) in Maceio. The funds will be used by the class to purchase specific materials that are either not covered under the normal annual budget or have been a desired request of teacher and students alike. For example, in the past we have been blessed with funding to support the upgrade of desks.
For the 2015 education year, the education committee of ECJC has requested funds to be provided for the 5th grade to help replace aging in-class teaching and support materials specific to the 5th grade.
Youth groups, businesses, and other group fundraisers (think pancake breakfasts) may find this to be perfect way to support the school. Sponsorship in this program will be recognized with a thank you from the class and details on how your donation was spent during the current school year.
The school's focus is to raise $360 per student, with a target of 25 attending students, for a total of $9000. If, through your generous support, the goal is exceeded, funds will be allocated to provide for an additional grade at the suggestion of the ECJC education committee. Progress for this program will be updated monthly here on the site so that all current and potential donors can see how our work together is succeeding.

books for learning
The sponsor a kit program is presented as an opportunity for contributors to help alleviate the cost of annual student learning materials at John Calvin Christian School (ECJC) in Maceio. The funds will be used by the school to fully subsidize the cost of the core materials (grade specific workbooks, etc) each student needs for the upcoming school year. These materials are purchased every year for every student, and consider consumed by year's end.
In Maceio, families who desire to send their children to a school that teaches reformed Christian education, and not to the local public school system, are sensitive to the total cost of enrolment at the school. Through this sponsorship program, which results in the elimination of the cost of each students core learning materials, parents are relieved of this fiscal roadblock.
Individuals and groups who want to help out through a larger than normal one time donation may find this to be perfect way to support the school. Sponsorship in this program will be recognized with a thank you from the education committee and details of what supplies were provided for the current school year.
The schools focus is to raise $200 per student, with a target of up 100 attending students, for a total of $20,000. This program is specifically for the registered students of the upcoming school year, and therefore the final donation target may change. When all students have registered we will share here what the updated target is and our progress. If, through your generous support, the goal is exceeded, funds will be allocated for the following school year. Progress for this program will be updated monthly here on the site so that all current and potential donors can see how our work together is succeeding.

Child sponsorship
The sponsor a child program is presented as an opportunity for contributors to direct their donation towards overall tuition reduction at John Calvin Christian School (ECJC) in Maceio. The focus of this sponsorship program is to help make reformed Christian education more fiscally accessible to the Maceio families.
The success of this program will also help to keep the school fees low and competitive with other private schools in the area. It will also set the groundwork for school growth in new activities, services and the like.
All individuals and groups who desire a personal connection with a student may find this to be perfect way to support the school. Sponsorship in this program will be recognized with a thank you from the school, printed communication at least twice within a school year from your sponsored child through Gospel Action Brazil, and short biography on the student your have sponsored.
As mentioned above, the funds raised through this program are to help the overall tuition costs of the school, and not that of a specific child only. Gospel Action Brazil still wants to promote a personal connection between the attending students, their families and their sponsors. Therefore the volunteers both at the school and at Gospel Action Brazil feel that by sharing in the lives of a specific child, you, our sponsors, will also develop a connection with the overall student body and help in its health and spiritual growth as a whole.
Sponsorships for each student are $30 per month or $360 per year. If, through your generous support, the goal is exceeded, funds will be allocated to provide for new students not sponsored in the upcoming year. Progress for this program will be updated monthly here on the site so that all current and potential donors can see how our work together is succeeding.
